14 January 2016 - IO3C Supports Continued Stratospheric Ozone Monitoring at Lerwick, Reading and Manchester Sites

In a letter to the UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the IO3C supports the continued operation of statospheric ozone monitoring at the Lerwick, Reading and Manchester sites. These long-term monitoring activities are critical for supporting international agreements such as the Montreal Protocol, and such data are becoming increasingly important for climate change studies. The IO3C therefore supports the full continuation of the program given the UK’s unique geographical location in relation to global weather patterns and the high importance of mid and high latitude observations. The full text of the letter is available here.
